Set token budgets for an agent

Why budgets beat monitoring

Watching a dashboard only tells you after the money is spent. A budget stops the spend at the source — the agent simply cannot exceed it.

Set a per-run budget

1. Open the agent’s settings (gear icon) → General.
2. Set a token budget for a single task.
3. Save. The agent stops when the task hits the cap.

Set a daily cap

1. Open Settings → Brain or Budget.
2. Set a daily token or dollar cap.
3. The platform blocks further calls once the cap is reached.

Step budget and loop limit

Separately, you can limit how many plan-act-reflect cycles a task may run. A task that cannot finish within its steps stops itself instead of looping overnight.

Read the result

The spend tile on the dashboard shows today’s cost per agent. Blocked injection attempts are listed separately, because those never got billed.
